On my 96 on the right side (exhaust side) on the carb throat near where it goes into the intake manifold (close to the cylinder) was where my low speed mixture screw was. From the sounds of your post yours has already been exposed for you. One hint- after i got mine adjusted where i wanted it i put a dab of caulking putty in the hole to prevent it from working loose or falling out. The putty hasn't hardened up so removal would be easy. Even if it did harden up it would be very easy to remove. Good luck. John
